instant loan apps have been in the limelight recently for alleged irregularities, both with regards to lending conditions and recovery practices. It is reported in a section of the media that they are lending money through unauthorised lending platforms with foreign ties. They are also reportedly using coercive and high handed recovery methods by wrongfully using data on the mobile phones of borrowers. In the current environment, we would like to state that these cases relate to unauthorised/ unverified apps and that we at UrgentPaise take strong measures to not follow such practices. All the loans on our platform are by an approved Non-Banking Finance Company registered with the Reserve Bank of India. We not only strictly follow RBI guidelines in letter and spirit but also self regulate ourselves in order to truly practice ethical lending and recovery:

• We lend only that amount which our algorithms determine is within a customer's capacity to repay
• We strictly follow an ETHICAL RECOVERY process wherein we DO NOT resort to any high-handed means. On the contrary we work with our customers to ensure that they are able to pay back.
• We DO NOT access your contacts/or any other data on our app and hence there is no question misusing any of your data. If at all we ever request access to your data, we clearly explain the need and ask for your permission before proceeding further.
• None of our customers have ever complained against any of the above practices.
• On the contrary, our endeavour is always to provide loans to those who need funds to overcome a difficult situation, thereby solving a major concern in these economically challenging times.

We strictly follow the RBI directive and have set up an effective Grievance Redressal Cell to handle and address all manner of grievances. We always endeavour to carry out responsible lending, whereby we give just the loan which we know you will find convenient to pay back, but also recover our dues ethically. We never believe in any manner of high-handed or coercive recovery methods.
